LIGHT UP THE BAYOU
December 24 - Sunset Hills Elementary is proud to announce the annual Christmas Eve display of lambathes @ Springs Bayou. A beautiful sight with the walkways of Craig Park glowing in the holiday spirit. For the sum of $1.00 a bag will be prepared with the name of your firm and placed around the Bayou. All requests are honored large or small. If the weather is inclement the lighting will be held on January 5th the Eve of the Epiphany. TASTE OF TARPON SPRINGS
TBA - Two fun-filled days starting at 10 AM of non-stop entertainment on the Sponge Docks plus arts & crafts. Authentic Greek food from some of the area's finest restaurants and pastry shops. TARPON SPRINGS SPONGE FESTIVAL
TBA - Come join in the fun and meet SpongeBob SquarePants. Lots of fun with a carnival starting on Friday April 30th and running thru Sunday. Hours will be 10 AM to 10 PM daily. A welcome parade will start from Pappas Riverside Restaurant at approximately 10 AM Saturday after SpongeBob arrives by boat at the Sponge Docks. Visiting hours for SpongeBob SquarePants will be from 11 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. Cameras will be available for purchase or bring your own to get your favorite shot. Soap Box derby races will be held on Tarpon Ave between Alt 19 and Ring St. on Saturday & Sunday. On site registration will start at 7 AM with competion at approximately 10 AM An art & crafts show will be on Courts street Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM daily. Parking and shuttlebus available at St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 812 E. Tarpon Ave; The Methodist Church at 501 Tarpon Ave. and St. Pete College on Klosterman Road will be serviced by Astro-Skate Bus Company for a round trip fee of $2.00 per person. There may also be a charge for parking. Service will be provided from 9 AM to 6 PM on Saturday & Sunday. Trolley Service is provided will be available on the regular route with additional stops added for the festival at the Boys & Girls Club at 111 Lime St. W and St. Nicholas Community Center on Pinellas Ave. For more information contact the Chamber at 727-937-6109.
